Entertainment at Dub Aid 3

The last two years' Dub Aid events have seen some great bands play - we always get great feedback on the line-up - and this year it will be business as usual. The schedule for who's playing when is yet to be decided (but we'll be sure to update this page as soon as we know ourselves).

This year we'll also be spicing it up a little by asking you to take part, too!

Fancy Dress!

Along with our fantastic line up of bands on both nights, this year we have decided to 'theme' our Saturday night in the hope that you lot will have even more fun and get even more involved in the Dub Aid spirit! With our main Charity being Great Ormond Street, we have decided to go a bit 'Ooooo Matron' with a Dr's & Nurses theme! Feel free to interpret as you wish, and be as adventurous as you like!

So fancy dress is a must for Saturday night, get your scrubs and whites on for a good dose of fun! We will have prizes for best dressed man, woman and child so all the more reason to make an effort!

The Music

• Spirit of the State

  With catchy melodies, hooky riffs, searing guitar solos and a professional all round sound, Spirit of the State makes an indelible impression on those that see and hear them. From the foot stomping Fight for You to the uplifting summer anthem, Best I Could, you wont be able to stop humming the songs long after seeing them. Modern popular rock at it's finest! Turn up the air amps, and smash your air guitars to the band that the NME has never heard, and VH1 has never played Spirit of the State! Especially for Dub Aid 3, SOTS have a full set of classic covers for you to sing along to!

• Nudy Bronque

  Nudy Bronque are an Indie Pop band based in the heart of Wiltshire. The band blends Indie music with elements of Post-Punk and Britpop delivering a strange, yet fascinating live performance. Their EP entitled 'Bottled Blonde' was released in April 2012 and was greeted with glowing reviews within the music industry. Dub Aid were lucky enough to have them play at last years event and they have agreed to come back again for 2013!

• Abandonher

  Abandon her were formed in the heart of Leicester in 2011. They have been wowing the crowds around the East midlands ever since, with their eclectic range of covers and originals, and their unique sound. They cover every genre from rock to pop, folk to dance.

• The Skangsters

  The Skangsters were formed in 1995 by Lead Singer Wayne Hunt & Percussionist/Vocalist Ad Wooldridge. They've played the length and breadth of UK and Europe. As former Mods/Skinheads the band makes it a must to perform with attitude playing a mixture of 2-tone, bluebeat, SKA and original material.

  Over the many years they been together they have supported well know bands inc Bad Manners, The Selecter, The Nutty Boys, The Beat and Squeeze to name but a few.

• Dirty Works

  Formed from the ashes of previous flames, Dirty Works are a Bristol based band taking the Alt Rock scene by storm. Their song craft, which blends searing vocals, melody and ground shaking riffs has earned great reviews, and will no doubt see them grow from strength to strength this year with an imminent EP release and pending tour. Expect catchy songs, massive riffs, and one of the best live shows you're likely to see.

• Tom Dibb

  London-based Tom Dibb (the original 'Boy From Slough') is part of Insomnia Music Management's roster of talented singer songwriters. Tom has been playing in London as well as at festivals and acoustic venues across the UK over the past few years. A firm favourite on the Caffe Nero Tour, this February sees Tom heading on a plane to play a series of dates with Caffe Nero in Dubai before returning to play Dub Aid 3!

• The Dead Hand Gang

  Born from a burning desire to make music to relieve the crushing boredom of being residents of Farnborough the Dead Hand Gang sprung in to life in 2009. Currently playing covers to adoring audiences all over Surrey and Hampshire Robin, Brimmy, Terry and Glenn are taking the local scene by storm. Covering songs from bands such as the Killers, Kings of Leon and the Strokes their set is lively if nothing else!
